Ramble: Accessories

A friend of mine was going through his Facebook when he saw a string of photos of girls/ladies attending OCS (Officer Cadet) Graduation ceremonies. The girls/ladies are usually girlfriends or close friends of the graduating officers.

He found that somewhat revolting and wondered whether that reduced girls to items of accessory, like a hairpin or something; competition of which hairpin is more beautiful?

My personal opinions? Why in the world do we need the ceremony in the first place? 'Well utilization' of taxpayer money?

Oh well.

University Success

Who is the successful fellow in University?

• The bookworm who sticks his head into the books all the time with a resulting high GPA?
• The CCA fellow who claims to be hands-on successful but totally neglects his academics and projects?
• The social networker who doesn't dubbed in either academics or ccas but claimed that his networking will lead him to success?
• The Jack of all Trades who tries to do everything but really ends up medicore in everything

Gay Blue Birds

In the hope to give some credence, even if little, to what I previously suggested about the human population turning homosexual and extincting ourselves in the process, here is an article about blue ducks facing extinction within UK because the last of the ducks decided to go homo.

Here is an excerpt:

Keepers at a bird sanctuary in West Sussex hoped that the last remaining female Blue Duck in the country - called Cherry - might mate with either of the drakes, Ben or Jerry.

But neither male duck appeared interested and are now inseparable at the Arundel Wetland Centre, leaving Cherry to her own devices.

Maybe the birds knew about Ben & Jerry's ice cream.

Backhanded Compliment

I got back my Statistics midterm test today and I did not bad.

And the professor totally amused me by saying: "Not bad for a guy who always comes late," when he passed me my paper.

Not So Secret Lives: Nice website design but seriously, what are they trying to achieve here? Any idea, anyone? Seems like some attempt at viral marketing.

It's what computers have become: The tagline for Nokia's N95 advertisement might really come true very soon as Nokia tries to get Asus to become it's tag team partner.

NTU Event 1 & Event 2: Unless you've been living under a rock or out of Singapore, you probably wouldn't had missed these ones. But what is more interesting is that the two events seem related. David Widjaja & NTU second suicide victim Zhou Zheng worked in same laboratory. Plus there has been word going around that David Widjaja wasn't a suicide case. Will the truth ever come to light?

Lightning Strikes Merlion, Tuas Chemcial Spill: And to add oil (literally) to fire, the merlion got struck by lightning (hey, isn't that particularly linked to a certain political party's logo?) and some accident occured at Tuas.

Nice Guys Don't Get The Girls: An adage with a long history. Anyone has any opinions on this? I seriously think it is true.

Horror Story

Rumor has it that a certain law student had some inquiries (beg for answers) for a professor for his group project. He did managed to get his inquiries (answers) answered.

However, because of the fantastic invention called the bell curve, he decided to keep the answers for himself. Was that enough for him? No, that wasn't. He decided to take it a step further. He supplied false answers to his team mates.

When the professor discovered that the answers for the group contained polarizing differences, he was shock.
